Yann Druffin

I have 20 years of experience as a software developer (nine years in Canada and eleven in France). I’ve worked in a range of industries including finance, telecommunications, real estate, hospitality, gaming and biotechnology.

I primarily work with backend services, Rest API and web applications in Go and C# deployed on AWS. In addition, most of my positions have included a supporting role on the frontend using technologies such as Blazor, Angular, and React.

What I love most about coding is the opportunity to learn everyday. I enjoy working in a polyglot environment where I can share ideas and try out new approaches. I support open-source development, and I’m interested in getting more involved with contributing. Some of my current personal projects include experimenting with Rust and developing retro games for my friends: Galago.

I’ve been working remotely since 2020 and am conformable collaborating with a variety of tools including Slack, Jira, Gitlab, Github, Bitbucket, and Azure DevOps.

I live in Vancouver, BC, where I enjoy outdoor pursuits like back-country camping, hiking, and skiing as well as arts and culture in the city. I also scuba-dive (so far just in the Mediterranean, but I’m interested in getting back into it around here.)
